SmartSense Integrated Lights & Radar


SmartSense integrates Lezyne front and rear lights plus a Garmin vehicle radar into one system, powered by a Garmin Varia Core 3450 mAh battery pack.

Battery life is up to 2h 45m on full brightness, or up to 20h on the most efficient modes. The battery can also be removed to charge other devices such as your drivetrain or mobile phone in an emergency.

The battery is charged via any USB-C charger and takes about three hours from flat.


The Garmin Varia Radar uses a color-coded system to alert you of approaching traffic. Green means there are no vehicles detected, Amber means a vehicle is approaching from behind, and Red means there is a vehicle approaching at a high rate of speed.

These alerts are displayed on your choice of the included Radar Display Unit (RDU), the Cannondale App Ride Screen, or a bike computer head unit from Garmin, Wahoo, Hammerhead, or any compatible ANT+ head units.

Lights can be programmed to flash or increase in brightness as vehicles approach.

Rear light includes a brake alert function to indicate you are slowing down.

The lights have been custom made for Cannondale by Lezyne:

Headlight: 350-lumen Foresite E350 (350 Lumens)

Taillight: Hindsite E85 (85 Lumens)

Only the included lights are compatible with the SmartSense system.
